Hello again readers!
return after some time thanks to a new partnership with friends of the blog, which have been encouraged to send a report to a place with much appreciation and they have visited and inspected thoroughly to send a great story.
seems that little by little, people will send us reports encouraging rather than simply recommending us to visit places they know and believe are important enough to make them known. With little time and making the visit, one can learn a great story to send us and we gladly publish.
First we present the authors the report. Known as Street Explorers, the team comprises Roberto Luis Carrasco and David Gonzalez Ramirez , both residents of Cádiz and we appreciate your time and send us this wonderful gesture of story.
The place you have sent us is neither more nor less than the abandoned jail of the Assumption of Jerez de la Frontera, which has suffered the fate that many of the buildings for which the Home Office is not a new utility: the abandonment.
Prisons are places that fans leaving the game give us a lot during the visit, not only for what big place and its many agencies to visit, if not give us the opportunity to close your eyes and take advantage of the silence of the place to imagine what it would be like during operation.
SOME HISTORY
Although we have not found data punishment of all, thanks to a small article in a local newspaper, which we did a cut and paste, we can get some historical data of the site:
"When the prison of La Asunción was opened in 1962, had the latest improvements in a English prison: It was a modern prison that had a nurse and even a heated pool. Survived the dictatorship welcomed convicts, children and high-profile names, suffered in his flesh the appearance of AIDS and lived the first riot on the rooftops in the early days of freedom. Then in December 2000 closed its doors. Forty-seven years later, the situation is filthy prison, plundered to the bone, stale and even dangerous ... "

VISIT
The site is accessed without any problems from the street, because of this is that the place, like the majority of dropouts, have been subjected to waves of scrap, graffiti and other vandalism.
Once inside, the tour of their facilities is not of much difficulty. Among the most important are:
The perimeter security, which highlights its high walls, which makes sense to prevent the escape of prisoners.
After visiting the perimeter, access to the bottom, where they stay after stay we visited all the places that make this center prison.
The first thing we are delving deeper into the corridors of cells, that place where prisoners spent most of his time.
Noting photographs shows that at present, prisoners, rather than imprisoned, are hosted in luxury hotel rooms with bars. Just seeing the images one imagine how hard it was to be living in these conditions, normal now unwilling to get out of jail ....
Once visited the cells, go through the different rooms and corridors to find objects that can draw our attention as be for example where male and female prisoners were with their partners during visiting hours.
O places interviewing other people who went to visit, these visits not being as pleasant as the previous.
O booths meeting regular visits from their families.
This contraption was used to move things from the side of prisoners to the side of officials
there are also places that served as workshops where the inmates were preparing for "reintegration" into society.
Walking we find the place where he prepared meals for the inmates, the kitchen, although little remains of it. Strikes us follow the bell even there, strange that there is a scrap metal arramplado with it.
Here is a picture of the room.
We left the kitchen behind and dedicate ourselves to visit the different courts that make up the prison where prisoners enjoyed a few minutes of sunlight and some fresh air.
then visited the rooms from which the officers guarding the prisoners in their spare time in the courtyards.
At last we reached the place most important and that in particular we like: The core from which to watch the different wings that make the prison.
Finally and leaving the room and ran into a room the less curious, the dentist's room. There is still the chair that the dentist used to heal the inmates.
With this, we terminate the visit and left the place, looking through some broken windows, the heavy security in the form of bars I had the prison.
With this image we end the tour and we left the place with a good feeling to have enjoyed this amazing place and a little embarrassed to know that soon will be demolished to there a joint station of the National Police and the local police.
We want to thank once again Explorers Street, or whatever it is, Roberto Luis Carrasco and David Gonzalez Ramirez his effort and desire that have made this report. There are other friends who join the list of explorers who decide to send a story to publish it.
This is demonstrated, to prepare an extensive report is easy if you take advantage of the site visit. It's as simple as shooting all over the place following a tour of all instances.
In this video you can see more images of photos taken by our friends and fellow Scouts Street. Friends, once again, many thanks!
hope the report has been to your liking.
